"The Forest and the Storm" – A group of artists explores the consequences of climate change for our forests. In 2023, the group received the Environmental Award from the Bergisch Gladbach City Association for Culture.
"The Forest and the Storm" is an exhibition project of disturbingly current relevance. Increasing drought and the resulting increased susceptibility of trees to pests, along with more frequent violent storms that destroy entire forest areas, are all transforming forests in frightening ways. In this collaborative project, initiated by Christine Burlon, Markus Bollen, Andréa Byron, Christine Burlon, Christian vom Grumbkow, Beatrix Rey, and Magret Schopka explore the undeniable effects of climate change on our forests in a multifaceted artistic approach. Throughout the exhibition, the exhibiting artists will organize several artist talks, inviting visitors to engage in engaging discussions on the topic.
